Just double clutch and feel the gears GBR. Read the chart and remember....the birds are singing, the sun is shining, and the world is a beautiful place. After talking to another member here about his test drive....one guy out of school was taught to float only. Even coasted across the rail road tracks. You'll figure it out on the first day.
8 speed RD? :epuke: I think anything less than 13 for OTR is silly. I am an old fart!
If there is a 13 speed for the test drive? That truck is from the early 90's and won't shift worth a flip due to being floated for a bazillion years.
I didn't know that Swift hires Hazmat specifically. Does it pay more?

Well I thought it was an 8 speed, LOL (feeling like such a girl right now). It had the shifting pattern of a 13 speed but we only used 8 gears.

Now if you were walking through the door with 1-5 years experience, it might be a different story... -

Swift pays a $35.00 bonus for any hazmat load you haul.

Got a text from one of my roommates I had at the Swift academy . She had just passed her dmv test. Now this is a girl who had never driven anything with a clutch, ever. The first time she got in a truck at the range to practice straight line backing, she laid rubber, LOL. She was worried about being able to do it, but she was determined.

Congrats to her my wife is thinking about getting her CDL and she said I never driven a clutch I said they will teach you

I had a guy in my class that had never driven a manual. He did great after about the 3rd day on the road. It will probably be easier for her to learn to drive one without her having all the bad habits.
