I gotta say, it's been awhile since anyone has informed us that they're "incredibly" happy.
And I, for one, am tremendously jubilant to hear how
incredibly happy you are, RoadToad. :smt041:smt109:smt038

Ahhhhhhhhh, ............ you're only sayin' that 'cause it's true.
But we're just hieroglyphics on a contrasting background.
As such, we can do nothing except use words to form sentences and paragraphs expressing our thoughts.
Y'all, on the other hand, have to make sense of it all, discern the bovine excrement from the sage advice, make a decision (or two), and provide the practical application.
Sounds to me like you folks have to do the actual work.
Give yourself some credit, too.
And help others who seriously seek to be enlightened.
Yes sir, I agree.
But you'd be surprised how many don't appreciate it when they're told. And about an equal number don't listen to anything they don't want to hear.
Their research begins and ends with a published advertisement to make big bucks as a professional Big truck truck driver with only a few weeks of company paid training. That's all they want to hear.
How hard can drivin' a Big truck be?
E A S Y money.
Before they know it, they're workin' on makin' their second million bucks ---- after giving up on making' the first million bucks 'cause it was too hard.
Some will even lease a Big truck because they were told that's the way to make a small fortune. What they didn't hear was, in order to wind up with a small fortune, it's necessary to start with a
large fortune.
It's a good thing we can learn from not only our mistakes, but the
mistakes made by others as well, --- even if the others don't realize they've made a mistake, ............................... yet.
It takes all kinds to give it a whirl, but it seems it takes only one kind to make it all work out to their benefit. Those who have done the necessary research before taking the plunge, like checking to see if there's enough water in the pool, have a better chance of stayin' afloat and not goin' under.
If we've managed to help you, PittsburghPA ----
You're very welcome.

WOman.

Why would you have to remove on a co. truck? Seen alot of co. trucks with way worse stuck on them forever.
Instead of bumper stickers, order those free business cards with the web address & leave them at the entrance of every truck stop you go to. May want to get permission from the powers that be here first though. -
The recruiters know the internet is their worst enemy. The information is out there on this forum and several others for those who WANT to know, and has been for years. Anyone now with a computer and at least an IQ above the average rock can learn the truth as far as they'll listen, and no more. As long as there's hard times around, there'll be people who'll do what they think is best and ignore the pleadings of those who've been around for a while. Common sense and good information's biggest enemy is desperation, and no amount of warnings are going to make much of a dent with people in dire circumstances. The real challenge is to find an outfit that can at least give you a real world view of money made out there, which isn't easy to get out of someone who's paid to bring in fresh meat on fresh CDL's (sometimes known as Cheap Disposable Labor) to keep the labor costs down and their company competitive in an overcrowded marketplace.
zentrucking and Michelangelo Thank this. -
While getting my truck serviced in Gary, IN, I stayed in a local hotel. I met a driver there that was just about to start driving for C.R. England. I told them all the bad things I knew about C.R. and he just blew it off. He even heard already the "Every New Guy ..." joke.
Desperation. The only explaination. -
I love it! Seems that most companies think that way or it means "Combonation, Driver, Laborer" -
My soon to be husband has been with FFE for over 2 years. he started out in a lease w a freight liner n the truck blew up under him. now he signed a new lease on a 2008 Volvo thru them, dont get me started on the problems with the truck thats another story! and Cummins knows about it! but he got in a USED truck and when he just got the info on the pay off he will end up paying almost 140,000 dollars for a pos used truck! they refuse to let him get a truck that gets more than 4 mpg!!!! the ICOM system on this truck SUCKS! n cold weather it eats fuel n in warm weather its great! what are we spose to do????? FFE refuses to allow him to walk away from the lease and keep telling him he is worthless bc he wants out! we are starving 99% of the time for money both our bills r so far behind it aint funny! He went 22 weeks wo a payck at all last year!
