Use dominos, cheaper. $6 per pizza delivered to your truck anywhere. Pilot lady was looking at me mad when they had fresh pizza and i had dominos delivering.

Paying full price retail for fuel sucks. Who does that? There's options out here to get discounts even for one truck operators. 6.5 is ok but like I said lots of trucks out here do way better than that. They'll clear 25-30 cents a mile more than you on the same rate.

Whenever I check their board all they have I low paying freight. Maybe I check at wrong times. Only time I see a good paying load is at midnight when they email you. Jb hunt pays decent sometimes when they need the load moved rest they are cheap

That’s the thing with Amazon you have to be on the board 24/7 and i usually end up booking recoveries. IE someone’s truck broke down, and its an urgent load. It pay sometimes 2.5 times the rates on the board up to 4 I’ve seen. Knowing their lanes and times they update the board helps too. Because the good loads are gone on sundays or saturdays for the following week, and you can tell if they have many loads on a certain lane and if its crappy pay then that means to many trucks nearby.

Their app tracks every amazon contractor, so they know who’s nearby and how many there are and rates are set accordingly.

That's because most people are knee deep in debt.

Well, those of us who grew up in the 60s and 70s probably learned a lot about debt from our parents and grandparents.

Today we see 20 year olds driving $60-80k Silverados with lift kits and lights. I couldn't imagine such a thing. And financing things such as mattresses and washing machines.

I'm happy I grew up when I did. It helped me a lot when I got my truck.

Sad to say that most of these entitled will never get the message. Mostly because there always seem to be a bail out somewhere along the line.

    Rinse and repeat.

I grew up on welfare. Back when it was an embarrassment to be caught with food stamps. Real food stamps given out in a book with denominations like currency. No card. No hot food. No seafood. Only the basics were allowed. Now, you can literally buy lobster, shrimp, caviar and crabs with their card.

I've learned to not take money, nor material things as seriously as most people. Easy come, easy go. I always make sure to keep food on the table and a roof over my head. Everything else is purely for luxury.

I swear I saw a woman buy $31 worth of CANDY with one of those cards.
You know, my dad had to do it one time when he was either on strike or layed off and I can remember his shame. So, I think the cards are better, (despite the fact that we all know what they are).

That said, why can't we go back to just uncooked, unprocessed FOOD???
    We've screwed up so bad.

I remember when the government gave out commodities- gov't cheese, flour, beans etc. Partly as a way to boost crop prices. This was in the 50s. No food stamps then.
