The 3 times I have had the misfortune to be towed they always dropped the drive shaft ... didn't know there was another option.

That is probably the safest way, but not all do it that way.

So Laura picked me up Friday and we got to the Event.
It was fun, but I probably won't go to another one.
I was surprised to learn that nearly 1/3 of the drivers at Menasha are million milers.
Most were there, which was about 40.
Today Laura drove me back to the motel near my truck.
They will be draining the tranny fluid today or tomorrow to check for damage. I'll call in the morning for the status.
It will either be done tomorrow with no damage, or it will be another 4 days or so to replace the transmission.
(Well, depending on what Swift wants to do.)
So I'm just hanging out watching the NASCAR Cup race.dptrucker Thanks this. -
@Moosetek13 could you get a loaner?
-
It is 130 miles to Menasha, the closest terminal.
If they had one I would need to get there, then back here to get all my stuff out of my truck.
A few days in the loaner and then I need to get back here to get my truck.
Moving everything back and forth between the two, which takes hours. And it would be in a dealers parking lot, not a terminal with the platform that makes things easier.
Then there would be a bobtail here that needs to be recovered.
Is it really worth it for anyone?
Simply getting a loaner is never as simple as that.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I had good news today.
No damage to the transmission so I am back in my truck.
Currently at the Petro in Gary, IN on my way to MI. -
Neosho, MO at the Love's.
I delivered a load to the Lowe's in Joplin, and that has always been fun.
There is no path around the store and there is no room to turn around, so once you get in you have to back out.
And they have junk trailers in the way along the drive, just to make things more difficult.
Today had a new twist.
I was told to back out with the loaded and park it in the main parking lot in front.
Then come back in to get the empty, back that out, and then I could get the loaded to the dock.
1500 on a Friday, and there is little room to get around cars in the main lot, and I need room for 2 trailers.
Since they see fit to make things even harder, I think I will be refusing any loads there in the future.dptrucker Thanks this. -
