Picked up trailer 6803 last night at the Walmart Fulfillment Center in Monroe Ohio last night. Of course I now am spending my morning getting it inspected, a tire replaced, a mudflap installed and the 3 marker lights repaired. So, right now, I have what can only be described as an, IDGAF attitude right now. Oh, the trailer I picked up in Ridgeville SC Saturday night, # 5678, looks like it was used as a connex box for the USMC over in Afghanistan. One of the newest reefers that looks beat to hell. But, like I’ve been told over and over, “we’re working on it”.

The company i work for now has policy in place that states this.. if a driver picks up a trailer that has obvious defects that the previous driver could not have not known about and the driver have to spend his day fixing it somewhere at a shop that driver gets paid by the hour and however much money is paid to the driver at the end of those repairs Is deducted from the previous driver who dropped the trailer paycheck..basically the owner wants folks to be accountable..

They tried that a few years ago. Then those previous drivers quit. So they stopped doing it.

That’s the problem..they would rather keep bad drivers and lose the good ones..morons

The ones that quit are the ones they need to purge from the ranks.

Back in the truck after a long weekend. Son turned 18 years old. Can't believe they let me have kids that long. I kept expecting someone to come and take them away and give them to someone who knew what they were doing.

But nope! They let me muddle through, and now he's legally adult in most ways that count. So to celebrate I took him and my daughter to see his favorite band in concert.

My kids live 2.5 hours away from my apartment, so it's 5-6 hours of driving to go get them.

The concert was also 2.5 hours away from my apartment, but there was DC Traffic in between the two, so it was 4 hours to get there and 4 hours to get back.

So I spent most of my weekend off driving around anyways. And now I'm back in the truck where I can relax.

Got a load delivering to Sysco Cleveland in the morning. Started getting sick on the drive up. Feel like I'm coming down with a cold. First time I've been sick with a cold or a flu in about four years. Hopefully it's just a cold or something and not The Rona.

They are predicting a worse season for the Flu this year and earlier than past seasons. If you believe in vaccines it might be a good time to get one.
