There needs to be a floor put on rates.
How about $1000 minimum and $3 a mile for any load.

There minimum wage out there, how about about minimum wage for trucks.

The guy with the old freightshaker held together with duct tape and delayed maintenance can maybe run cheap rates but not everybody can.

Once economy picks up and there's not enough trucks out there then the screaming of driver shortage will pick up again without mentioning those same shippers/brokers bankrupted so many of them just prior.

Well if you put a floor on something there's just as many people who will have a great argument why there should be a ceiling. Both are a terrible idea. It's not my problem somebody is too ignorant or timid to ask for a solid rate. Or doesn't even know if they can or where they can. You're running a business so you're taking on some risk there. Figure it out.

We had a minimum wage for trucks before. But then people complained it was too hard to get operating authority and the government agreed and for the last 42 years we’ve been on the road to where we are now.

I have one of dad’s old South Dakota PUC maps and also a couple old rate sheets and sadly the rates aren’t much different now. The only thing is they pull 2 trailers to make up for it on volume.

This broker thing is done beaten to death. We all have our opinions and we all want what’s best for truckers. Maybe that’s the reason we can’t come together.

On a side note, couple years back I commented on attaching an Apu on the Tesla Trucks to extend range and look no further because it looks like could be something viable.

If you want minimum wage then go work at mack donalds... As the old saying goes , if you cant take the heat, then get out of the kitchen...

No true god honest business owner, that knows how to make money, is going to agree with anybody that wants to limit how much money you can make as a business owner. That is complete nonsense... If you want guranteed money, then go work a w2 job... Business owes you nothing and gurantees you nothing other than to kick your ### everyday.... You scratch and claw your way thru it and make what you make out of it... If you cant handle that, then you should get a regular job where u are guranteed x amount of money per day and leave the people that know how to make it, to do what they do...

Yep and you can't hardly order food from a person walking into any fast food place these days. You gotta order it from some grimy kiosk that every snot nosed kid or booger picking truck driver ordered from.

Hold up! I have my father books. Dont tell them the truth.

We are the most regulated, unregulated industry ever. Only the pay is unregulated. But they cried then, they cry now. IM for the trucking industry. Im for myself.
