I don’t agree with your take on AB5. I choose what I do. I choose where I go. I choose how much and for how long I go home. But I’m leased to a carrier. Maybe something needs done about financing the truck from the company that dispatches you, but in the traditional sense of how the owner operator leased to a carrier business model has always been there are rarely issues that would classify us as employees of the company we’re leased to.

lol I’m just saying as a top flight carrier or broker. You have to be prepared for anything and that’s where value plays a part.

Rate? Try this. Flatbed 52000 lbs of railroad ties. 45 foot trailer max. Tight switchbacks and wash-outs. Green cut, no preservative. You load forty miles from the end of the pavement. The trip from the end of pavement and back takes approximately four hours. The closest town is 95540
You load yourself. You do run forklift don't you? This one is a little different. It's a Cat crawler with forks.
There are no scales at the load point. You'll need onboard scales. If you can't haul 52000 don't even bother. If you care to check weigh you can use our scales. If you're heavy we'll take a few off. If you're light you'll need to take more. The order is for 52 and there are plenty of trucks available who fit the bill.
The load picks up at daybreak on a Sunday morning. It delivers at the Port of Long Beach California at 6 a.m. Monday to be put on a ship. No back haul.
