Then why can't you haul 86000 gross?

But the reason you can't haul 80000 on a 30' dump is because the kpra is not long enough.

I could, as long as my inner bridge is longer than 51', and I'm registered for it.

The answer you are looking for is the bottom 1 because of the spread, but the real answer is ''it depends'',

He could go 84k gross in states that allow it and if he was licensed for it. I was licensed heavy and ran 86k gross with a 52ft spread when I hauled cattle.

Bean Jr. and Oxbow Thank this.

It doesn’t depend. It’s very specific. The short spread on the truck in the one pic meant that for me to max out at 104,500 gross (101,500k in Oregon) I had to be 13k on the steer axle. The other pic that has a 10ft spread on the truck lift axle I was only at 12k on the steer axle to gross 105k (102k in Oregon). If I shortened up to carry more on the steer then I lost weight on the 7 axle inner bridge. Also you’re only allowed 34k on the drives so you can’t just back the air pressure off on the lift axle to try and carry more on the steer axle.

Bridge. The length from outside to outside of sets of axle groups containing two or more axles.

Axle 2 through 5 spacing, in this case.
