Seems like every trucking company in America is hiring.

    Most aren't paying though.

You're in Missouri and you can't find a trucking job? It's so many companies in Missouri it's ridiculous and all those companies are hiring. I'm guessing you don't want to go on the road.

Our local fuel distributor is looking for a delivery truck driver. Stable company, easy going boss, most of the employees I know there are laid back and good to get along with. Year round work, hourly pay, excellent benefits, almost new KW T-800, might work an occasional weekend during fire season but if it's fire work it pays a lot extra. The heaviest thing you lift is your lunch bucket. The driver that has the job now is retiring next year.
For that one position the owner has had over fifty applications. Of the fifty, over thirty didn't meet the minimum qualifications regarding a clean driving record and no criminal record. Of the twenty or so left fifteen couldn't speak English well enough to communicate with the office or with customers. That left five. Three of those didn't want to work in the mountains and they had no snow driving experience. That left two. One of them got arrested last night for growing pot in his back yard. He lives next door to the chief of the tribal police.
The owner told the remaining applicant he'd find work for him until the truck became open just to keep him around. He didn't want any busy work so he took another job.
Driver's shortage? I see it all the time.

Sorry about that. Fifty applicants for good job. Most un qualified but applied anyway. Those that were qualified didn't really want to work.
Fifty applicants for a good job. Darn good job. Job still open. No driver shortage, per se.

    bryan21384 Thanks this.

There are plenty of jobs to be had... But there are 2 problems.

    1) Most places dont want, or cant afford, to pay what folks really need.

    2) Most folks dont want to really work. They want an 8 to 5 job where they sit on thier butt and do I little to nothing.

    Rctruck87, bryan21384 and Milr72 Thank this.

I can think of 3 end dump companies around KC that would probably put you in a truck tomorrow if you applied tonight. Salt season is fast approaching, construction of giant warehouses is booming and with how low the rivers are, every concrete company, asphalt plant and sand pit are tryin to get their dick beaters on sand.

    bryan21384 Thanks this.

You're completely delusional, sure there's alot of companies here but nobody is posting jobs, before you start spitting out a bunch of lies know the facts
