Sounds good and, in theory, should eliminate the occurrence. But deep down inside us, we all know that there'll be some knuckle draggin' low brow who will attempt to find out if bangin' REAL hard will work.

For those of y'all who aren't familiar with the sound created by someone pounding hard on the door or especially the side of the sleeper when y'all are back there, ---- place a metal bucket completely over y'all's head, ---- and have someone hit it hard with a tire buddy.
    YeaH!
    That bad.
And it takes awhile for the ringing sensation to dissipate.
Multiply that effect by 2 or 3 if y'all are asleep.
The adrenaline rush is another thing that ain't appreciated.
A good way to put a Big truck truck driver in a baaadd mood --->

Having had that problem but would be a good ### whoopin' comin' over it if it did. However I have had the issue of one guy banging on the side of my truck with a #### maglite. He put dent's in the side of the truck. Called the company and informed them of what he did. Was told they would contact management there and inform them of the situation, in the mean time take pictures.

WTF is wrong with these people? They beat on the side of your truck like your deaf hard enough at time's they leave dent's with their hands. I'm usually nice and respectful at shipper's but beating on the side of my truck so #### hard I #### near have a panic attack like something is really wrong and it turn's out it's just an ok to "back into the dock" then I raise up out of the window ######## and yelling chewing ### leaving that person to walk back up to their other co-worker's that are on a smoke break with his (never had a problem with women doing this) head hung low feeling pretty stupid.

Only had one guy bang on the side of my truck while I was at a shipper. I called the cops - WHILE HE WAS STILL BANGING AWAY.

Neither he nor his supervisor was pleased when the cops showed up.

    I was, though.

You know they are doing you the favor to let you go sleep while they are unloading you. They should just let you sleep and when you wake up in a locked yard , let you sit till morning.

Maybe you should be smart enough to set your alarm for say 90 minutes, then go check on them.

Driver are there own worst enemies. As far as some entering my cab while I'm sleeping, I run a tie down strap between the doors, Your not opening either door.

Doors are locked any time I'm in the truck period!

For the guy who called the cops. That would have been the LAST time you or your company would have delivered or picked up a load if it was my company! That's a good way to loose a customer especially in this cesspool of an econmeny and if I had lost a customer for you being a complete idiot for calling the cops while parked on someones ELSES property you'd be out on the street looking for another job but that would be hard after that stunt! You would NOT get a good reference. That is pure BS on your part!

If it bothers you or ANY of the rest of you when they knock on your door or sleeper then STAND YOUR ARSE ON THE DOCK or stay in the drivers room or drivers seat and wait for them! Or as mentioned above use your alarm clock!

After 32 years of driving and dock workers I KNOW that when in my sleeper someone is going to knock on the door or sleeper! It doesn't scare me or give me a panic attack or any other cap! Now if they used a mag light and dented the side of the truck I'll let the company handle it! Unless you are an actual O/O then unload on the idiots arse!

Now, these guys know that some of us are pretty tired when we hit the dock and it can take a few knocks to wake us up. Me, I tell them to knock on the sleeper wall and hard to wake me when I put some hours in before hitting the dock. I haven't seen anyone dent a sleeper side that's made out of fiberglass yet! And the only dents I've seen in metal sides came from a FIST or mag light! Never from a palm.

One time i was at TH foods in ...I think it was Loves Park, IL.....when i first saw the alley i had to turn down the place to get in, i thought i was in downtown chicago! (the place isnt that bad, but the alley looks kind of scary at first glance LOL).

Anyhow I was getting unloaded, wasnt sleeping or anything, infact i had just driven a couple hours after waking up. I was in the cab using my computer. They finally unloaded me, and the dock man opens the dock door next to me and blasted a handheld air horn. LOL.

It didnt make me mad or anything, but it was memorable. I went in and got my paperwork, and said...I like the way you wake us up....the guy smiled. LOL.

but seriously, banging on the sleeper and leaving DENTS? thats uncalled for.

I ain't never heard of anybody denting a big truck with just their bare hands. And I've had plenty of dock workers knock the absolute snot outta my truck trying to wake my dead self up. Yeah, I've slept in some good spots. And I've never, ever had anybody from the dock enter my truck. Had a company mechanic get in my truck while I was sleeping once, start it up, and start driving it to the shop. He survived the experience, but I garauntee that's the last time he'll move a driver's truck without being sure of where the driver is first. In my defence, I woke up fast thinking I was sleeping in a truckstop and thought someone was stealing my rig.

I had a problem with that a couple of times, because I hadn't locked my doors. I think it's incredibly f'inng rude to just open someones truck door and make some kind of announcement..

Both times it happend to me, I ripped their faces off (verbally) and told them that is the equivelent to just walking into a strangers home. It's terribly rude, probably illegal and could get you seriously hurt.

After that,I found just leaving a picture of either Barbara or Laura Bush was enough to repel even the most determined intruder..Who needs a dog when you can just tape these flesh eaters to your window?
