In WY if you are based here you can prebuy the IFTA permits too. I think they give you a 15 day window.

I think I figured it out based on some previous posts.

It makes no difference where to me. I try to not run out east of the Indiana line too often.

Misinformation like this is what get people in trouble. I now live in Ohio and pass the scales everyday. The sign says two things: 1) ALL COMMERCIAL VEHICLES OVER 5 TONS MUST ENTER. This means that if you are a commercial vehicle and weigh over 5 tons that you must enter. If you are a commercial vehicle but under 5 tons you do not have to enter. If you not a commercial but over 5 tons then you do not have to enter. 2) ALL HAZ MAT VEHICLES MUST ENTER. This means that no matter what you are driving, if you have HAZ MAT material on board that you must enter.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the scale on 84 in Union CT there in there most every day with a full house and they will find something with you or your truck 99% of the time i avoid it at all cost.

north and southbound cajon pass scales on i-15 north of fontana are almost always closed between midnight and 0600. if you're running a bit heavy, or otherwise, it's best to get through there between those hours.

For several months i was passing by/going through several scales in ohio, including the ones on 70. there was NO SIGN saying anything about commercial vehicles or 5 tons.

Now there is. And that sign on 70 looks BRAND NEW.
