It was probably hemp. I've seen it hauled wet and dry. Dry is much easier and you can get more volume. When you haul pot it's almost always already dried. Anybody growing enough to warrant shipping a truck load will usually have drying facilities on site.
What you refuse to haul

This was horrible
I had the shipper add an extra $500 to the load for clean up. Which they did but never again will I haul it like that
This stuff was harvested and then bagged right in the field
I assume they didn’t plan on rain in AZ but this was sitting along the field roads in a ditch that was maybe 2’ standing waterFerrissWheel, D.Tibbitt, cke and 2 others Thank this. -

Here is a funny part to the hemp/weed trade. Have hauled several loads of “grow media” to a number of locations around the country. Some of these grow operations look like secret government installations, the security is quite high. The regulations on this dirt were crazy. All sorts of paperwork and certifications for it.

Some of the mixes are patented with all kinds of "secret" stuff in the list of ingredients. Some of it is just shredded bark mixed with dirt, too.
A friend of mine has been a grower since the 60s. He buys very few soil amendments. Like he says, "Buying a lot of fancy stuff can't overcome bad farming."
He must be doing something right. He buys a new pickup every year and he takes the family to the Bahamas every winter. He filed a letter of credit with me for hauling, grading, and site preparation. LOL...His letter of credit comes real close to my gross for the year.FerrissWheel, cke and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

Humans. No passengers, not in my cab, not on my trailer, nowhere. Driving limits my contact with the human population the last thing i want are passengers of any sort.

Have both inside and outside grow spaces. At certain times, that place stinks so bad, Can barely stand to be in the area. They must be making money. Every spring for the last 3 years, they have added something to the operation. This year it was a huge steel building.FerrissWheel, beastr123, GYPSY65 and 3 others Thank this. -
