I was issued a 2023 389. Brand new. My driver window switch went out before 10k miles. My dash has froze up a few times, the fuel gauge more than anything. Which like you said, always makes for a fun adventure. If my fuel gauge is showing 1/4 tank sometimes I put in 60 gallons, sometimes I put in 110. For a few days in the blue DEF line it would just say ‘No Data’. I dunno what was wrong with an analog gauge and who thought it was a bright idea to go digital, but it wasn’t. All I can say is it’s got a stick comin out of the floor, and no nanny monitoring lane departure front radar constant beeping crap.

That's the winning move right there. There were times when the service manager would send a guy out to rob parts off a stock truck to get a good customer back to work ASAP.

There hasn’t been true analog gauges for years. The ones you’re thinking of are controlled by a computer getting the exact same info that the digital dash is getting.

Mine froze once last summer and I just kept driving until I pulled in to a truckstop for my break. When I started the truck up again the dash changed to show the correct miles since I’d driven about 100 miles with it froze up.

Yep I had been stuck in Montana last year and needed a part that was on back order. Called the manager and asked if he could find a part for me. He said he found one in the old junk pile they used to rebuild stuff. Sent it overnight to me and saved my butt. I have never paid for any of that as well. Very hard to find good people in this business.

    Concorde and AModelCat Thank this.

Keep a close watch on your throttle position sensor. I’ve had a couple dead pedals and have a dead spot just trying to start rolling. From what I understand it’s built into the whole pedal assembly and it’s $3,500 for a new one. Watch your warranty.

Also have troubles with the shifter linkage..very difficult getting it out of reverse.

And the fuel tanks, lol. They decide to only pull off one tank at a time on occasion…or send fuel to a tank where it’ll overflow.

One of my 2019’s had the air pressure gauge out. Turns out you gotta replace the whole mother f’r center dash area. We’ll, it’s back ordered indefinitely so thankfully found one on eBay for $300 and had it shipped to KW. The new one that you couldn’t get was $2100

You haven’t been around Volvos very long, then. :D

PACCAR really need to figure out how to build a truck WITHOUT check engine lights being on, when they’re delivered. They’ve become a joke.
