Even if DEF became unavailable, there is a simple fix they can and will implement. Remember the PACCAR dosing pump issues last year? Entire fleets were going down and there were no replacement parts available? The EPA authorized PACCAR to eliminate the SCR portion of the tuning on the affected trucks until the parts became available and could be installed. Simple fix for a massive issue, and they would likely do the same if DEF became unavailable nationwide in order to prevent the economy from completely collapsing.

Mostly Cats.
Even when at the dealer 0W-40 was the only engine oil on the bulk reel. Got put in everything year round unless the customer specified a different grade. -
Goodyear CMV place hasn't been able to get 75w gear oil for months in bulk. They also have any oil you want for your PM as long as it's Rotella 15w-40.

It only will be a solution if governments says: there is no def, so you can temporarily run without it. Which is probably impossible… -
Guess you folks missed where drtdevl said the EPA allowed Paccar to disable the SCR because of a huge parts shortage.
