So I run flatbed… these paystubs for past couple months are net pay after taxes 10% 401k contribution of which they give me 4% no vesting. So I put in like 140 to 160 a week they add I’m 50 to 60 bucks… this includes insurance benefits and all taxes last year I actually even got a tax refund only 1000 bucks but hey not bad.

Depends on experience and what you haul.

Brand new to trucking and you haul logs? Hell yea. 30 years of experience hauling farm equipment? Hell no.

The question is, "Do YOU think it's good pay?" Me personally, I could make that work. It's about average for a OTR van, reefer, or flatbed company driver with a reputable company. What one person views as good pay, the next one may not. The only person's opinion that matters about that is your own.

And it's not all about pay. I mean......how much home time does the OP get? If he lives in the truck and never goes home, that pay sucks. I've easily made more in one week than any of those pay stubs running dry van if I stayed out and didn't go home. Also, how much is taken out for income tax? Some states don't even have income tax.

Way too many variables to determine if a few pay stubs is "good pay" knowing NOTHING else about the situation.

Even if he stays out all the time, he may be banking because he has reduced expenses, and I don't think it's so much about how much one makes but how it's spent. ####, take away about 3 kids and a mistress, my money looks way better lol

Noobie to 1 year experience is okay.

If you have lots of experience no.

Why not post gross pay? Average net including the $150 for 401k is $1414 per week. Since you got a refund, they’re taking out enough in taxes. I’m guessing the average gross is roughly $1750 per week. So annual pay is around $90,000 per yr. Considering the average Truckdrivers pay is currently about $62k. I’d say your doing pretty good. Compared to the $100k per yr. every Truckdriver claims they make, your lagging behind.

I disagree with this although I do get your point

You don’t give yourself a raise by working more you do it by working less but smarter

As mentioned already what’s good to one person isn’t worth getting out of bed for to another

If it’s a laidback job. No rush. And plenty of home time if that’s desired then the answer will be different than the guy who wants to hustle and work 9 months with 3 off

I’ve always said. You don’t want all the work, just the good work and that translates to a different outcome to each and every one of us

Guys on this forum will work for $1 per mile (O/Op’s) while others won’t work for less than $3
In that case there’s two very different definitions of good pay and it would appear that one is more desperate than the other

I think it’s fine for net. I don’t understand the whole point though. The need for others to validate your pay?
