Do you get to choose your own loads when you lease at FCC?

    runningman0661 Thanks this.

No, but as an owner operator I can refuse loads (which I very seldom do).

Lonesome, BeHereNow97 and Speed_Drums Thank this.

FCC has a solid customer base, and have for years. Some of their customers have pulled loads in the past and given them to other carriers who undercut FCC, they ALWAYS come back to FCC because they provide reliable on time delivery.

Something else the head of sales told me yesterday, he just got back from a big conference in Atlanta. Talking to several big shippers, they have actually pulled loads off of the spot market, and moved those loads over to contracted carriers. Seems counter intuitive, but that why you are seeing less freight on the spot market.

There's less freight because the economy is in the toilet. Swift CFO said there's no materialized peak season this year. Shippers I speak to say orders are way down.

I have seen way more bad service, from speaking both to shippers and brokers.
As in trucks committing to loads and then not showing up.

Im not saying your head of sales is not telling the truth, but sounds like he’s being a very good head of salesman. :)

Well that's still a pretty sweet perk, I definitely won't downplay the ability to turn down a load should you want to do so for any reason.

It does occasionally come in handy, about the only time I do it is if there's too many empty miles
