So this has happened to me a couple of times and I’m curious if it has happened to you.

On a few occasions, I have docked into a dock and set my tractor breaks but not my trailer breaks. I do this daily out of habit but sometimes the dock workers go to my trailer to unplug my trailer airlines.

At first they are scared and confused because a bunch of air just gets released and it’s extremely loud. Then they get pissed because they expected me to have set it.

All I can say is don’t touch my trailer without permission and just ask me to set my trailer breaks.

I don’t understand how some people can be so arrogant. Imagine if I messed with their vehicles breaks. That’s a lawsuit, I’m not sure what is legal and illegal in this case.

Are they allowed to do that?

I set my parking brake but not the trailer air supply, I was taught that way.

Will do now, but shouldn’t they ask me to set it rather than messing with my airline?

Plenty of places will put a lock on the glad hand to prevent you from moving. Mainly the one's that have had drivers pull out with a forklift still in the trailer.

Not to be snarky, but if this is the biggest issue you have consider yourself blessed beyond measure. I mean, really.
They’re driving a forklift into and back out of your box, loading or unloading freight, careful not to punch holes in the unit, and you’re offended by someone touching your air line?
    God help this industry….
