Yeah they are trash, and don't forget to mention the paccar blocks that like to develop cracks around the headbolt bosses or around the counterbores. Garbage

No but they do use a very fine fuel filter FOR this engine. THAT does get clogged and is a known issue of paccars, you can google it yourself or even look on this forum. Now towards my engine @Diesel Dave if it was 1 time sure. Ive had my tanks dropped and cleaned, new fuel lines, new filter houseings installed ect. Still does it consistsntly even AFTER that all has been done. Its not a fuel issue, its something else.

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.

North American fuel is #### compared to what's used in Europe (where the Paccar engine comes from).

My last truck I’d do fuel filters at 20k without an issue. On my current truck I’ve changed fuel filters twice in 102k miles and haven’t had any issues. Whatever you have going on isn’t the fault of the engine or the filter itself.

The only thing is that I’ve always used Paccar filters on my truck. Have you tried those instead of Fleetguard?

I bought a 2013 MX13 460Hp and its been fine. It was used as a wharf tug so probably idled a lot and probably didn't go any faster or further than 30 mile. It had 170K mile on it when I got it and was only getting 500 mile from 200gal. Some good highway miles and premium diesel and it now does 900 mile for the same 200gal. I use Fuel Doctor in it now with standard diesel, works out roughly the same cost but with more benefits.

Its now got 280K mile and given me no grief worth noting. I service every 12,000 mile and use genuine filters. I'd happily buy another. Mechanic told me expect at least 620,000 mile before a rebuild.

The wipers wear out faster on my truck too!
The separator pre filter supposed to be 25, I changed that to a 7, and still don't have the issues you're claiming to have.

You most likely need a cetane booster so it will burn right. This is why I had mentioned the hot shots everyday treatment. Volvo are bad about that as well but with the treatment it is clear as day. You may think it is snake oil for the hot shots but just get a cetane booster of any kind and try it out.

Only an absolute freaking idiot puts additives into a diesel tank outside of anti gel....

It does absolutely nothing except for taking money from stupid people

Yes actully i have, i ONLY use paccar filters i dont play the cheap crap game. Also i aint a retard like you seem to think i am mate so kindly pull the stick out and before you say it, that particular photo with the fleet guard filter was because my local pete was sold out of the paccar filters and it was that or nothing for that change. And yes ive tried the cleaners boosters and other liquids and did 6 to 18 treatments of each kind just to give it time to work. My list includes diesel power, hotshot secrets, diesel extreme, power service, and one called diesel bomb. That last one actully made it worse, added it and my filters basically desolved into goop. @scoobertdoo good for you! Want a cookie?
