you got to look at it in context though, look what happens to gas engine when you put diesel in it. It can hardly run to save its but. Then look what happens to a diesel when you put gas into, BIG boom unless used in moderation. It has more to do with rate of burn rather then btu. Meth is the perfect example very low btu but can make massive power. It all depends on application. Propane = NOS like Diesel = gas.

At least in Oklahoma, we pay a 'Flat Fee Tax' every year on each vehicle and then receive a sticker that goes the the right side of the front window. We can burn as much/little propane that we want. If we wanted, we could burn 100% propane (if the motor would stand up) and they couldnt get us for unpaid fuel tax b/c the tax was paid with the annual 'flat fee tax'

as far as i know as long as the gas or diesel isnt red they cant do anything for taxing it.

it worked for me because of the propane "price". i don't run it in my otr truck because of the propane "PRICE".like anything you need to be able to do the math and see if it works for your situation. will it increase power? YES. will it increase mpg? YES. is it a workable solution for some? YES. is it a workable solution for all? NO.

Check into what R 12 becomes when heated to 900 degrees and then think about how comfortable people are to have it in their AC systems

BTUs don,t mean ###### diesels are heat recovery expansion engines and the reason conversions are gutless is cause the maroon that did it put the cheapest system on that they could find , a propane engine will kick a gas engines butt.

Has anyone thought about using a hydrogen generator on there truck.Seen some HHO generators on youtube made fom simple supplies from the hardware store.A quart jar of water was producing hydrogen and a hose was hooked into the intake. Most were happy claiming about 50% increase in mpg.Unlike propane, hydrogen can be produced for nearly nothing.I know there is alot of variables to work out but still very interesting.Check out HHO generators on YouTube.

Conversions WTF are you talking about? These trucks were ordered new from the dealer as propane fueled. Higher maintance and lower power, period! A friend had a chevy pickup with a 350 that ran on propane. GUTLESS wonder. Just look at the KW that was featured in a recent issue of fleet owner. ISX running on 5% diesel and 95% natural gas. Power was not a plus for this engine, emissions only. Look at any Schwan truck, propane powered and also gutless. But as a power adder yes propane works on a diesel but it's not free, so before anyone thinks it's the holy grail for fuel economy you need to do some math.

Phozgene gas. Quite nasty stuff. Never leaves your body after inhaled. A little will only make you sick for a while. Too much will kill you deader than a can of corn beef hash.
