I sold all my equipment earlier this year. After owning trucks for over 30 years and growing up in the industry. Day after I sold the equipment I went to DMV and got a regular license. I miss trucking like smacking my thumb with a hammer. I have a good job now at home and work 40 hours a week no #### stress or headaches. Now that I look back I should have never bought any equipment and ran from the industry.
My hats off to the ones still rolling down the super slab.

    $80,000
Guess I should clarify this, i am 60 next May and suppose to be off the road. My wife retires in march. She already has a line up of people who want to hire her for part time work and her plan is to do 20 or so hours a week from home, no more commute, for pocket cash.
I have a back log of restoration projects that I need to finish and so I will need to generate enough revenue to fund those, so I will keep doing something...., what is the question.
This this truck is most likely my last and it may even be Dec 31, it may be sometime next year, but one day it will just get a for sale sign. Not sure what will prompt it? Probably having the right opportunity in front of me to make it happen.
$80k tho is all we owe in the world. And it actually is less than that now, that number is 6 months old, I let the wife deal with that stuff.
Selling my truck would take care of a good chunk of that, and what ever accounting she does and whatever I do with take of the rest of that nut easily and allow us to not touch our retirement money until we totally pull the plug.
I just need to get my projects done, 20161009_165939.jpg 20190601_171651.jpg IMG_0033.jpg .... lol

We have some metal carports to store the cars that work pretty well... But i found it aint to bad working on the dirt if i lay out my 8ft lumber tarp and drive over top of them...

What no oil field ? That’s good. Whatever happens in this business, it’s always a roller coaster ride.

I’ve seen times like these too often. Took 2 weeks off, bought 4 drives did 4 wheel bearings/races/seals/shoes. Finally put my new fifth wheel on. Been out now for 9 days. I’m still sore from all that work. It's going to take a lot longer than normal to get ahead on the monthly bills this time. Im guessing it’s going to get tighter between now and April, May, maybe even June. Who knows? Too many unknowns right now to even think about. Just gives me a headache. Fuels up $1,00 a gallon and rates are down .20 cpm within a month. That little bit boils down to $1000 per week less. $500 more per week for fuel, and $500 less in gross revenue, within a months time. Wow!!! It’s getting real tight. Worse than ever, all things considered.

There is a long line of people that want that. I just keep saying, not for sale.
