Any companies out there willing to hire someone that can't climb into a trailer?

Thanks for the comment! Yeah I mentioned wanting to use a ladder or even just a simple industrial step such as:
Vestil VST-2-Y $95.00 2 Steps, Polyethylene Step Stool, Load Capacity, Yellow | Zoro.com
I'd think it would be more dangerous to try and step up on a 22 inch high bumper that could be covered with ice or snow. I'm going to the gym to try and comply with the company but for $100 I figure it's worth the money to avoid injury. Thanks again!

Are you going to try the compression socks and knee sleeves?

Absolutely! I actually have compression socks and knee braces but the sleeves looks like they would be more comfortable than the braces. I have an old knee sleeve but I think it lost its elasticity.. Thanks!

Yeah, it's funny that they provide additional steps so the driver can climb into the cab but a ladder at the back of the trailer is just too much of an accommodation. I'm not asking for a wheelchair elevator, just a simple ladder or step.

Knee sleeves seem the best; at least in my case.

If you can climb in and out of the truck in the cab, just get yourself a little portable folding ladder and you should have no issues. And in my opinion no that shouldn’t prevent you from doing the job.

And I’ll add to that, I currently run dry van. And honestly I only have to climb in and out of the back of the trailer maybe once a month to sweep it out. It’s pretty rare.

Thanks for the response! Yeah it's a "trains anyone" kind of company and their trucks drive like a pumpkin (wink-wink). :) And what is a helper strap? Thanks again!

I really thought they'd let me use an industrial poly step but apparently not. My understanding is that they have to provide accommodations -or- use another reason to not hire you. I understand that legal would consider my employment as a liability but every time a driver steps on a trailer bumper they're taking a chance on having a slip and fall accident.
