If I was going from warrenton to waynesboro I wouldn’t route it pass the grovetown scales. Even during the day. I don’t know why he was on 10. Should’ve gone through wrens. Other than that I don’t know what your point is? I would have dodged the scale too. But I would have done it in broad daylight.
But who knows. It doesn’t say what time of day this happened. I mean it does get dark at 5 pm and Georgia is a half hour before sunset. I’m sure it was a contractor. They may have had intentions of getting it done before dark and life happened. And they got held up and he was trying to get back to the yard. IDK and honestly nobody else on here does either.

One man. Every decision good or bad, goes back to one man. If you go high enough in the chain you come to one man.
In this case I'm thinking that one man weighed the risks and took a chance. It didn't work out. This time. Do I run 100% legal all the time? Nope. I weigh the risks and try not to do anything that puts everybody on the spot. I have no more right to ask my driver to break the law than I have to ask the law to excuse me just this one time.
I run legal most of the time. But I know about the temptations, too. -
Jesus, did you see the weights on his axles? As far as I'm aware a standard set of duals gets you 20,000 max most places and he's over 27,000 on several.

It says 5:09 pm.
With it being near wintertime the sunset usually starts around 4:30 to 5:00 pm.
The point is a lot of those smaller towns in that part of the state have truck restrictions or prohibitions because they don’t want trucks tearing up stuff, can’t safely negotiate some of the turns, the roads can’t handle the weight, the residents don’t want to listen to trucks passing through,or all of the above at once. Most of those towns have designated bypasses specifically for truck traffic, and even then there may be restrictions on weight and length.
When it’s said and done that driver’s *** is grass!
If life really happened for him, knowing how Georgia MCCD does things, I wouldn’t have taken that load,no matter what time of the day it is!

I dont do heavy haul & dont know much about it, so some of you may be able to give me an answer.
The tile says driver gets ticket for after hours. When I looked at the ticket, I dont see any violation for hauling after hours. I only see a violation for over weight/over axle etc (because he didnt have a permit). Since thats mentioned, I dont see a violation for no permit either.
Its this a bundle deal? Its all separate violations.
So, I realize its just the way the reporter wrote it but, I'm more so asking abut the 2 violations he got away with. Am I correct?Coffey and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
