Oat meal for breakfast with a banana, plain ol walking will do wonders for high blood pressure, with the lisinopril and some exercise you'll get a one card first month. Less than a month a with BP meds I got one year certification card I'm okay with that I'm 61 years old glad I now know about it. I can fix it

Your BP is high, but not extra super high. You were in the range you could probably get it under control naturally. Keep in mind if you like most people it’s probably about 20% higher just because you’re at the doctor. Buy yourself a good quality blood pressure device that you can use at home. Check it in the morning when you first wake up and see what it is. Check it a few times periodically throughout the day. Another thing that will drop your blood pressure significantly in a week or less it’s cutting out sodium. And hydrating yourself every day for a week. I’m talking like a gallon of water a day. And of course losing weight and doing some exercise will bring it down as well. But sodium and being being dehydrated will raise it dramatically.

Just want to throw in. If you do JUST water, watch for over hydration. Yes it is a thing. I know people are on this fad of a gallon a day but a lot of people are dying from essentially drowning themselves because their system can't process and get rid of all that excess water fast enough. Swap out from time to time with water that has electrolytes added. Don't force yourself to drink if not thirsty.

Pre-11/29 BP averages out of this world... My Progress:

    1. 11/29/22 = 150/106
    2. 11/30/22 = 140/101
    3. 12/01/22 = 152/99
    4. 12/02/22 = 143/92
    5. 12/05/22= 134/100
    6. 12/06/22 = 124/82
    7. 12/07/22 = 125/88
    8. 12/08/22 = 126/88

    * I applied to three job postings today...

I am posting this fully aware of your last post, GOOD! I'm not a big fan of the long-term use of drugs to control blood pressure. One thing that gets humans are processed foods, and things like coffee and sodas. Just the other day I was visiting a trucking company and was sitting in the safety dept. A guy was sitting in a chair and he really looked down. Weighs about 350 pounds and smokes (seen the package in his pocket). We started talking and I gave him some advice after he told me he could not even get a 3-month card. He might have to self-certify to save his CDL and is laid off for now. I told him to make a meal log of everything he ate and a general idea of the portion size. The amount of Coffee and Sodas. Take that to a doctor and let them put you on a diet. I looked at him and asked him if he had kids. He said yes they were grown and he had some grandkids. My next comment is to you as much as it was him. Take care of your health. This comes first! The man did have one thing going for him. The medical examiner did not turn in the exam. He did ask me what I recommended he take short term to see about getting his high BP down. I'm not a big fan of Lisinopril because it can increase your heart rate. In the short term do what your doctor says. If they are OK with it get a combo of Isorbide and Hydrochlorothiazide. I have seen these two drugs lower BP by as much as 50 upper points and 20 lower points within a week. Enough that in most cases you can get a 2-year card. But NOTHING replaces eating right and getting plenty of exercise.

Yes, I did, I also warned him about the high probability of orthostatic hypotension while taking Isorbide. This is why I make it clear to him to get under a doctor's care and follow that Doctors instructions. High BP is dangerous. It can weaken the heart and actually damage your retinas. It is CRITICAL to get those high numbers DOWN ASAP! I can't remember the numbers off hand, but there are some readings that are considered medical emergencies. Yes, I know you take a series of readings to properly diagnose high BP.
