My first truck assigned to me was a recovery. The person went to the bathroom on the seats on the floor and on the beds and they dumped garbage in the truck and left it somewhere and it was eventually towed. The company I worked for told me I have 3 options. To either clean the truck myself, or drive it to the closet terminal that was 2 hours away or find my way home and I would go at the bottom of a waiting list for a truck. I end up putting on a rain suit and a face mask and bought 5 cans of frebereeze and Lysol and drove it to a terminal. I got a bunch of crazy looks from drivers as I passed them.
Transport America terminated and stuck 900 miles from home

I picked up a load of beer in South Carolina one time and pulled into a small truckstop just up the 2-Lane road from the Brewery. As I was getting weighed, some idiot pulled up and blocked the exit to the scale and got out of his truck. I "honked" at him thinking he simply didn't see the scales (Ya-right), he flipped me off. I had to wait about 15 minutes for him to "finish his business" (what ever that was) before I could move (I couldn't back up because of the line BEHIND me.)
Later, I saw him pulling around the back of the parking area as I was walking in to get my scale ticket, and I decided to flag him over and let him know I was only honking at him because he had "blocked me" on the scale, I saw him mouth the words "F-YOU" as he steered his truck toward me and accelerated.
I got out of his way and got his company information off the truck and called his company (after I called the police). As it turns out, he had been fired and was being routed to the nearest terminal after they told him.
I bet that "arrest" for attempted assault with a deadly weapon looked real good on his DAC.
HOWEVER; you cannot assume every truck driver is going to behave in this manner when he is fired, if so, there wouldn't be a trucking company in business today. -

when the companes realize that they will run short on drivers , then they will stop there BS.. There are many good drivers , and they mess up once in a while, but all the companies know DAC is there best friend.to me it's 50/50.. the companies need to step up on driver relations and the driver needs to step up on there company BS...

Abso-friggin-lutely. I put in to the pot. So I'm taking a little back out. Who said it was "their money" any way? It's mine. You're and everyone elses here.
So yes, I'm taking that money and getting an education. You have this correct sir. -
Just finished with a lively conversation with a fellow employee (4 of us at the table) who stated he 'hated unions' and why he did (we're a union shop). Even reminding him that he wouldn't have near what he has at the moment regarding pay, benefits, work rules, etc. (for this industry) didn't dissuade him in the least.
The only thing out of his mouth was 'unions steal from their members' and 'unions were formed and are controlled by organized crime'. He became indignant when queried about his experience and sources. Then, he shut down the conversation by proclaiming he was a "born again christun" and "unions were comminist". I wanted to laugh but just shook my head.
