We were called Spec 5's with a club card.
The commissioned guys had regular jobs, whereas all we did was fly.
They had to log 'X' hours every 90 days or so to keep their flight pay.
So they would come to me and say, 'Hey man, can you take me for a ride"?
I was always like, "sure, man, let's go.

he was told that if you wanted to fly , don’t go the commissioned officer route since they fly for a little while
And then drive a desk for the remainder of their duty time .
he wound up attending a CDL
Class at a community college and got recruited by a heavy haul company that hires and trains new drivers with no experience , if they can pass the background check. Which requires a spotless driving , criminal , and credit record due to the type of cargo they haul.Chinatown Thanks this. -

Real world talk, for a young Man, there’s nothing better than going into the military. Why? It’s the best chance you have to learn discipline and self discipline while learning a skill. Without some sort of discipline, a male will be worthless.
In ancient times, we learned discipline through our fathers, but that another subject for another time….Chinatown Thanks this. -
