How fast do you drive in California?

Just a side point if your running 65 mph in California how do you explain the fact that you can travel 715 miles in 11 hours instead of 600 miles driving at 55 mph in 11 hours? Just wondering if they can ever use your logs as proof.

 

I've been passed several times by CHP while doing 65. I've also had one sit at the end of the trailer until I slowed down to 55. Now I do less than 60 everywhere in CA unless I'm passing someone. It's far less stressful to just let everyone go by you and not constantly having to look out for CHP.

 

any which direction out of Cali involves mountains that will slow your average speed down. I guess if u get caught before then they could probably use the logs against you

 

I usually set cruise to 60 and theres always trucks passing. Its not worth the ticket on the record, just enjoy your good fuel mileage

I’ve tested 65MPH which is fine on I-5 in the middle of no where. Now that I think of it, I hardly know anyone, or even seen or experienced hard times from the California highway patrol. This agency hardly ####s with truckers outside of the scales. On the other hand, in a ####ty state like iowa, I was pulled over by dot for no reason other than the officer wanting to do an inspection.

 

I set my cc at 57. That puts my GPS speed at 56-57... just to pass off the cars
