We used to have a ton of truckin' job ad's in the paper on Tuesday's, but now we just have a few... System Transport, Star Transportation, Covenant, Stone Belt, Knight, US Express, and a company called Wood Trucking, Inc.
Wood advertises job guarantee on completion of Free 3 wk CDL A training w/ one yr commitment. (3 wk training, & 50,000 miles student driver in 2nd seat)
I think they are hooked up with MCT (Midwest Coast Transport)... and are out of Wauseon, OH
Anyone ever heard anything about Wood Trucking? :smt017 (Any info about them, etc. or anything? :smt023)
Wood Trucking, Inc./MCT ... Anyone heard of 'em?

someone posted not long ago that the company use to be LCT( lestor coggins transportation). if so, its a gainey company, an they filed chpt 11 in nov. things here were ganey is are getting very intresting with the courts. I would do some hard looking into them and would never do a contract, worst way you can go. I would call them, ask for thier DOT number, and look them up on safestat, if not sure how to do it, just give it to me, i can, just takes a sec to do.

I just tried a company search on safestat, comes back no such company. they may be the old lestor coggins, changed name but not DOT number or mc#. get me that number I will pull thier saftey score for ya

Thanks Recon08,
From their website I found out... => "Wood Trucking Inc. has been in business since 1977. Owners Wendell and Cora Wood, currently own and operate a fleet of 70 trucks."
Evidently, they are an o/o affiliate for Midwest Coast Transport and run 1 of MCT's training operations or somethin like that.
Just saw the add in the paper and figured I ask and see.... -
not a problem. I started to go contract, found that the school was having us do things that were in violation of dot rules and laws, left, took tax refund and paid for schooling. glad I did, Im a better driver and professional one becuase of that.
Fooman Thanks this. -
MCT has been around since 1951 or 1952 as a major refer carrier and has nothing to do with Lester Coggins or Gainy. Woods is a small fleet owner with MCT as they have no company trucks only 0/0s and small fleets

Hello all, Wood Trucking in Wauseon, OH. does have their own trucks, but it would be a cold day in Hell before I would drive for them. I interviewed, orientated (unpaid) and road tested with them back in Sept. 09 and after seeing a few things I didn't like right from the get go, I backed out. Then it came to my attention that I had a report on my DAC and I quote, "Accident/Incident Record - Equipment was involved in an occurrence or act that produced unintended injury, death, property damage of any type, or resulted in the equipment requiring a tow (other than mechanical breakdown) while assigned to the driver regardless of fault. Adverse information is reported for 7 years". The ONLY time I drove their truck was for the road test, first day of UNPAID orientation and NOT ONE THING HAPPENED. I never would have made it to day 2 of UNPAID orientation or made it to Monday morning, my first scheduled day to drive, if something had. I know there are 2 sides to every story, this one is the ABSOLUTE and ONLY TRUTH and anything that would come from their mouths that doesn't match to the tee of what I just said is an ABSOLUTE LIE, FABRICATION AND FAIRY TALE. Good luck to anyone driving or about to drive for them.

I remember there was a Wood Trucking that had red Internationals pulling flatbeds a few years back. I used to see them in Ark & Ok when I was running a dedicated automotive run from Decatur Al to Ok city.
