I think we should keep this thread going. It's been easier to have one main thread than five different ones.

I'm still 14-wheeling it all over the place. Super singles. Life's been easier since somebody showed me how to know if an outlet at the St. Paul Park terminal has electricity or not. There's a tiny light. I plugged into the same bad outlet twice in a row in January because I didn't know this.

 

They respect all of their employees. That's why they have bunk heaters and APU's for everybody! That's a great help if you're in Pennsylvania, after all. And they're a strong company that's going to be in business for a long time, as evidenced by their well-staffed headquarters terminal in Green Bay.

You have switched TO a bottom-feeder, sir. Time will tell.

Who does? My husbands asked for an APU for a while until he just gave it up. The bunk heater works...sometimes, but subzeroes outside doesn't keep much warm inside, given he primarily runs in the Northeast, well it becomes an issue. Just sayin'. All in all though, there are worse companies than Roehl to work for. I should throw that in, don't mean to totally dog them lol.
He did have some issues not to long ago, though. My husband turned down a dedicated that would have him away from home more and making less, the dispatcher that offered it admitted yeah, he was right and would probably lose out on money. Since he turned it down it's like his own DSR has decided to make him go out of his region more often than not and then yell at him about hometime. Seems things have smoothed over a little bit since they had it out over that bit, but still, seemed odd that things were going smooth, no problems until that came up and he turned it down. Maybe he made his DSR look bad or something because he said no. I dunno, doesn't much matter anymore anyway lol.

 

If the temperature is too cold just let the truck idle. I do if it gets really cold.

 

He doesn't like to idle, he has pretty low idling &#37;, something he is use to not doing (idling). The only time he's idled for comfort was when I went with him in the summer, then he'd idle if it was way to hot for the fan and no breeze. It doesn't much matter anyway, we're about to leave before his anniversary with them to move to another state and he's going to take a local job so he can come off the road. He's got a grain hauler job waiting on him. It'll be a pay cut depending on which time he drove and what trailer, it could be a pay increase lol. He's been OTR for 10ish years, he's had enough and quite honestly, so have I.
