I'm on a dedicated account. I start work around 10pm and finish the following morning. They have no open routes yet for me so I mostly ride with another driver and sometimes fill in when someone is out.
Today my DBL said I was missing 4 DVIRs. Each of the dates that were "missing" a DVIR was completed at the end of my shift, which was the following date.
Ex: started shift at 10pm on 11/11. Finished at 8am on 11/12. DVIR completed on 11/12. DBL says missing DVIR for 11/11.
So now I'm confused. Do I have to do a DVIR 2x for the same shift?
Do I have to enter "no DVIR required" for each day I don't drive?
Do I have to enter "no DVIR required" for each day before I drive? -
"NO DVIR" for days undriven. Days you drove, now matter how little, DVIR needs to be done for each day. That simple.
If your shift splits days then at end of that shift do DVIR. If coming back from say a 34 - No DVIR until the end of first shift back - then complete a DVIR after your Post Trip.harley9779 Thanks this. -
Thank you. This would have been great information when in training, or from my DBL who was unable to explain it, or even in some policy or student guide. But alas, it's nowhere to be found.
So short version. "No DVIR required" for days not driving. Got it. Thanks again.Munch75 Thanks this. -
On the other hand, dvir are only leaggly required if their is a dot defect to report, and filling out no dvir required makes the computer happy, so guess what i do.
On the snarky hand, this was covered in two different cbts you did during training. It just doesn't sink in.
