i know of a shop near me that does welding and fabrication work.
    The owner hires felons .
Almost all of them have “obtaining a job “ as part of their parole or probation.

he treats them fairly except for the pay .
He pays about half of what they could earn at any other shop , and some of them drive over an hour to work , because they can’t find a job anywhere else and they gotta have a job to stay out on parole .

Actually, the parole requirement is to actively look for a job. Obtaining a job can't be a requirement because people can't demand to be hired. When I was on parole, we provided proof of job search. If going a while without finding something, resources would be offered to further assist.

So the same requirement as unemployment has. That’s our wonderful government…keep the lazy, lazy.

Why do you assume that people don't want to work? Other than young kids that are still maturing, I don't know people who just refuse to work at all. I have known people who are tired of doing certain jobs. I have known people who physically can't work anymore. I have known people who want to work and just can't find a willing employer. Never known someone who is able to work, has a means to work, knows an employer that will hire them, but simply refuses to work. Your narrative is based on your personal views, one that has become quite common, but it's a false narrative that lacks any evidentiary support. Oh, you will claim all manner of supposed examples, but closer examination of your supposed examples would be able to show that you really don't know what you are talking about. The reality is that the US government could do more to make work that provides a living wage more accessible to people who have difficulty getting hired, but it doesn't because of special interest lobbies.

My response was to the person who was basically saying that there is a problem with parole having a requirement to LOOK for employment versus a requirement to GET employment. All of the other stuff has nothing to do with my response to that initial statement.

Then don't complain when you have homeless people begging on street corners because there is no free market solution for social problems. Things like homelessness and other such problems are social problems. A free market is brutal and unforgiving. So, where does the assistance for the people who are the chaff sorted out by a free market come from? You don't want government helping people, so don't complain when it's a problem that isn't going away. People like yourself want every person to go get a job. Guess what? In a capitalist free market system, there are not enough jobs for every person who needs one to have one. That's why things like homelessness exist. Also, the US sucks at taking care of military veterans. They went to war and served our country. They shouldn't have to work, if they don't want to. They did their job. Be grateful and help those who were willing to die. Are your tax dollars too good for that?

Oh I know several people who are capable of working but won’t.

the easiest way to find these people is to own rental property.

99.8% of renters are worthless deadbeat losers who wouldn’t work a day if their life depended on it .

    Wow.

Such a blanket statement for people that served in the military.

I would agree that those that were disabled because of that service should be taken care of - and taken care of well, not just on a basic level; I would not agree that simply doing time in the military should give one a free ride through the rest of their life.
