They’re company issued, at Dot Foods. At first, I doubted needing them. However, after going to so many places with poorly maintained properties and actually using them, I’m a believer. They’re amazing.
I keep them behind my seat, so I can put them on, before stepping off my truck step. I once made the mistake of stepping off the truck and fell flat on my back. Luckily, I didn’t hurt myself. But, “live and learn”. -
Have had a few that couldn't move because the TC was on. -

Gonna give a heavy load a try at 43K going out to Nevada tomorrow. Hopefully I can get closer to my 8 MPG on this one. Still no word on when my trailer Aero will be in but hopefully it will be first of the month.
RedForeman and ducnut Thank this. -
Was really missing my Volvo, this morning. Honda was closed for MLK, so grabbed a load to Nashville. This warehouse was on a shotgun lot, so not much room to get things lined up and into a door. The guy next to me was in an 860 and he just cranked on his steering wheel and put his trailer straight in. Meanwhile, my T680’s lack of wheel cut meant a few pull-ups. I told him how I missed a Volvo’s turning radius and he agreed it was something he liked about driving one. And, it looked good in black, with polished wheels.

Yep. The Eaton behind an MX13 was horrid. It was jerky, with zero finesse to the clutch engagement. Even easing away from a stop they’ll get jerky.
This PACCAR 12-spd behind an MX13 isn’t bad, but, nowhere near the refinement of the Volvo. This thing still has its fits, like trying to ease into an uphill dock. The brake pedal to clutch engagement interface is what needs work. Gradually applying more brake to gently touch the dock bumpers results in disengagement of the clutch. Then, let off the brake a bit and it gives too much engagement and I end up hitting the dock like an amateur. A Volvo doesn’t do that.D.Tibbitt, Siinman and gentleroger Thank this. -
