i decided to book a rental car out there and bobtail back home.. do i need to get those state trip permits and fuel permit to bobtail home?

In the past Idaho told me that if I had a bill of sale that there's no ifta required and no permit required to drive the purchased truck home. The key is bobtailing and not hauling a load. -

When I move a truck I bought, I wrote on a piece of white tape “NOT FOR HIRE”, , didn’t have any trouble. @staceydude did the same when he bought my 379 and drove it Bobtail from Commiefornia to Texas.

I drove this home with a "sold" paper in the windshield and no DOT#, license plate or IFTA with zero issues and wasn't even asked to stop and show paperwork. The hard part was reaching out for a non existent shifter!
