Those who set out to make things idiotproof have failed to heed Heinlein's warning: "Never underestimate the power of stupidity."

Does it have one of those annoying things that warns you that there’s a car in front of you? After all, your eyes can’t see that. :D

Maybe they’re giving you the signal because they think you’re wearing dirty gym pants, flip flops and a huge headset??:)

Well I got to tell you, you drive for a pos company if they say this, cheap company.

Throwing debris on the road as a driver is a low thing to do.

Serious accidents have happened because of lazy stupid drivers who know there was a problem but refused to do the right thing.

I am speaking from someone who has hit gators that were hit by others who didn't see them or could not avoid them. I wanted to beat the driver for the $5000 and $8000 worth of damage to my cars. My kid was driving on 94 coming out of Detroit, a truck hit a gator (the dash cam footage looked like he hit it on purpose), sending it flying which hit her car and it shattered the windshield.

Dude, 90% of what will come off comes off during the initial blowout. Whether I stop on the side of the road or not at that point doesn't change anything other than how much this blowout will cost us.

So like I said, you want to pay the road fee? I'll stop on the side of the road. If not, I'll go to the nearest loves. Every company I worked for told me to avoid roadsides if at all possible. 1. They are very dangerous.
    2. They are very expensive.

You suppose 55 might be a little fast for "limping"?

Seems like nobody cares about the safety of everyone anymore, just themselves.

I pick up the phone and report people that I see driving with a blown tire. I usually make a mental note where the gator is and tell them how far down the road the truck has been driving with a shredded tire. I’ve lost fenders on the truck because people are too lazy to stop and drag their debris off the road.

If a company wants you to violate regulations to save a couple hundred dollars it would make me wonder what else they’re skimping on.

It is of my opinion that constant use of 4 ways creates complacency.

Not always. Running 55 with a tire that's coming apart, and you know it's coming apart, puts a company right square in some lawyer's bombsight. We wouldn't allow our drivers to do it.

Please don’t try to justify it, I know the deal with flats, tires don’t blow out unless there is a serious lack of maintenance. most go flat and don’t disintegrate leaving steel debris all over the place unless it is driven on for a while.

If your employer charges you, then that shows either you are desperate for a job or unwilling to be more than a slave. My drivers are told to find a safe place to stop at, call road service or have the office call it and get the tire replaced. They will get fired if they drive all over the place trying to get the tire serviced. It isn’t their problem what the cost is, it is mine and it is cheaper to replace the tire than to go court because of an accident they caused directly or indirectly.

This is a serious safety issue and the cops I know would pull you over, issue you a ticket for it, put you oos and then do a level 1 to find other problems with the truck.
