I understand the cold weather. That's why I moved from Tennessee to Las Vegas area.

Georgia is about as far South, that I can think of, to get training. Millis Transfer trains in Georgia. Tell the recruiter you won't sign up unless you can attend school in Georgia.

Maybe try KLLM and ask for training in Mississippi.
Paid training companies that train as solos NOT teams?

Neither of these fit your desire to be somewhere warmer (sorry!), but I know Halvor and DOT Foods also do not team drive for their OTR training. DOT Foods in based out of Mt. Sterling, IL and Halvor is in Superior, WI.

Schneider also trains in Phoenix, Arizona. Probably much warmer than Ohio. Right now it's 56 degrees in Phoenix.
Might have to pay your own way to get there though, since there are schools closer. Probably worth the drive or flight to train in a warm climate.
Ask a recruiter about that.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

Are you okay with LTL? Yellow's Driving Academy doesn't do any team training either (they can't: they run day cabs). And it's offered in a variety of places; they have hubs in a lot of major cities. This website advertises the academy in Albuquerque, Forth Worth, Nashville, and Charlotte, among other places: Yellow | Paid CDL Truck Driver Training

You can probably get a cheap one-way flight ticket to Phoenix and attend cdl school there with Schneider.
If I were you, I'd tell the recruiter you're willing to do that. I'd do it if in your situation. In the big picture, it's a good deal.
By the time you get there, the weather will be real nice and warm.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

Just read where Schneider still wants paid even if they decide to fire you, even during training. If I quit sure no problem. They cancel the contract aka fire me they can kick rocks. Not worth the risk of dinging my credit. I'm guessing if Schneider does that then most if not all others do the same.
So I guess I'll start looking into just paying for school. So far I've not been able to find many schools that offer a B to A upgrade class and those that do what full schooling kinda money. Which is what sent me down the paid schooling path. If it wasn't for the fact most companies want a school cert I would just do the edlt online and go rent a truck/trailer. But no big surprise corporations think a degree or cert means you know something. When most of us know better.
I do appreciate all the suggestions though. Without this forum I may of made a very costly mistake.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
All trucking companies say that. If you quit or get fired, you still owe us.
Most drivers ignore that and move on with their lives.
