Where is the best place to look for trucking jobs? I have mostly been using indeed.com. Is that the best? Are there any others?

You're certainly on a good website right here. All you gotta do is go to the homepage and put in your city and state. Not only that, @Chinatown is the man with the plan. He can point you in a direction of companies that may fall a little under the radar. Post your location and experience in this thread.

Oh I have. I've got a few suggestions. I've talked to @Chinatown a lot! Just didn't know if there were any other, better places then indeed for local looking. I am in an odd area.

You can stop looking right now, you won't find a better resource, than right here. Why, I'd have killed for site like this years ago. Years ago, we used to talk to the drivers to see if they were happy. I got a lot of jobs simply by word of mouth. A CB in the 4 wheeler was the key to jobs. Can't do that today, nobody talks to anyone anymore. You have to be more specific as to what you want, otherwise it's overwhelming. Chinatown is the #1 go-to guy. If he can't help you, no one can.

Indeed.com, maybe glassdoor.com, plenty of driving jobs on Craigslist. The jobs on CL may not be the best jobs,, which is why the same companies with the same jobs are about 90% of the CL trucking jobs.

The best jobs are the ones that fit you and your situation. You cannot make a good choice until you know what you want/need. IMO, the people that claim to "just want any driving job" wind up taking the bait from certain bottom feeding companies and those companies are hiring thousands and thousands of drivers every year to replace the thousand and thousands of drivers that only work for them for a few months.

You need to honestly decide how much time you need at home, how often you need to be home, how far you can realisticly commute to/from work if that company isn't in your home town, how much money you need to make to make it worth the time and aggrivation of trucking/commuting. There are lots of considerations which will determine the quality of life for you and/or your family if you work at a particular company. Never work at a company until you communicate with CURRENT working drivers at the company doing the job you are considering. Ask them how many miles they got last week, how much is the paycheck, are you "live load/unload" or drop and hook? Avoid refrigerated freight until you have experience and see what customers are REALLY like. Dry van is the least demanding of the driver. That lets you concentrate on learning the job, learning to live the lifestyle of trucking, etc. 80-90% of new CDL drivers quit the industry before they have 1 year experience. Lots f that is because the drivers don't know what questions to ask about the job/company and the companies are not going to invest much into keeping you since most of their new hires will quit soon. You can't make a good decision if you don't know what is right for you.

I already understand all of that. I know what I am looking for... There are a couple companies near me that I'm interested in working for but need experience first.
