Paid training companies that train as solos NOT teams?

Plenty of company recruiters will be happy to tell you whatever answer you tell them you want to hear. f you want the truth make the company put you in contact with a current working driver at the company. Company practices don't remain static for years and years. Someone that started at ABC Trucking may only know how training was done in 2015. Recruiters, the people that answer the 800 numbers and emails, will be happy to say you can sleep until noon, be home every weekend, and make UP TO $90k in your first year. In orientation they will tell you what you heard from the recruiter may not be true.

Character is determined by what you do when you think nobody is watching you can get away with it. Actions have consequences.

Schneider charges 2 grand. So if you go through a private school you will probably owe more.

Which is why I said I'll just pay for the schooling. I have zero desire to gamble $2k to maybe get my A. Not worth the risk of getting an instructor with a bug up his ##* or something else stupid. Sure many just jump in and hope for the best. I'm not one of those people. I also have zero debt and don't live paycheck to paycheck. So some would say my way has been working so far.

Trust me driveaway is just as bad recruiter wise. Can't believe a word that comes out they mouth.

Yup from what I've rathered roughly double or better if I go the school route. But if Schneider (or any company) can just send me home cause they feel like it then that $2k or more is just for a chance at getting my A. Vs paying for it at the end, unless something crazy goes wrong, I'll have it. Other upsides are I won't have a year or 9 month contract and it opens the door to many more companies that will hire new grads but don't have a school. So gamble with $2k and hope or pay more and pretty much be guaranteed my A with less restrictions. I'm not a gambling man.

This place loves tooting their own horn & are really not all that great. Recruiters love to sugar coat here, just fyi. Also, no taking truck home for hometime.

They do and their chemical tanker training is pretty good. You won't make great money there but it as a good stepping stone to a better company after you get some time in.

I'm not sure how it is any more of a gamble then anywhere else. There is nothing with paying for school but I find it hard to believe that a private school isn't going to want their money if they boot you.

I have no idea about other company paid training but Schneider doesn't kick people out willy nilly. They want drivers and they will do what they can to turn students into drivers. The people that got booted from my class were given extra driving opportunities & had several instructors take them out to see if they couldn't cut it. It wasn't based on the whim of one instructor. We had one student who couldn't climb in the back of the trailer & the student had daily sessions until they could.

You will certainly have more opportunities if you go with a private school but I'm not sure how many of those opportunities will offer to train you as a solo driver.

I hope you find what you are looking for.

Thanks. Do you happen to know what they value that training at in case we decide to leave as soon as the training is over?
My wife and I are looking for a dedicated team tanker job coast to coast or similar, schneider may or may not have such a position.
