I’m surprised @Cat sdp didn’t put that pic up as a “cascadia life” post. :biggrin_25523:

I actually owned 3 of them-one was actually a Mercury Topaz(1992 coupe). The others were a 1988 Tempo GL sedan and a 1986 Tempo GL coupe. Of the 3 the 86 GL coupe was the most reliable one. Instead of the regular 2.3 liter HSC engine it had the HSO(High Specific Output) version engine ,which came with a thicker head gasket-which didn’t blow like regular ones! It also had a 5-speed manual transmission, which was way more reliable than the 3-speed automatic that Ford was dropping into everything at the time.

@Dave_in_AZ ... You need to smack @D.Tibbitt in the head with the skillet you got from @Opus to wipe the smile off his face :)

Ok. So's we have stopped for fuel and an indigenous 30 at this Flying J place.

Got 70 gallons to get back to full.

    Has traveled 696 miles.

    So's like 9.94 MPG

    The OM is pleased.
