I am needing some guidance on this reoccurring issue that I keep having.
    2016 Freightliner Cascadia
    DD15
    DT12 Automatic transmission
    697k miles
I am having a very weird problem where my EGR valve and cooler keeps cracking. I changed both out in May 2022 because of a crack and now 8 months later I am having to change the same parts because of a crack. Cracks are appearing in the same position and know this can't be a coincidence. No loud pop when it cracks. Any insight on what this can be would be greatly appreciated. I have attached 2 pictures of the issue that I am having, one is from May and other from today. No check engine lights pop on as the emission system has been deleted from the truck. Could the deletion be whats causing this issue. Also no coolant is coming from the EGR cooler when cracked, is coolant supposed to shoot out from it? I know the mechanic put a block plate on the EGR valve, and on a pipe coming from the intake manifold to the EGR cooler.

So if i am understanding this correctly under normal conditions where my EGR cooler is cracked at coolant is supposed to be shooting out from that crack?

No. That's an exhaust connection. Coolant wouldn't leak there unless the EGR cooler had failed internally.

Oh ok makes sense, so what could cause the EGR cooler/valve to crack? What is causing it to overheat?

Is there any coolant going through it or was that blocked as well?

Something’s not installed correctly? Causing excessive strain on that joint?

mechanic is stating that no coolant should be passing through there since it was deleted, so I am not entirely sure

That's the problem. NO COOLANT IS PASSING THROUGH. It's over heating

But if EGR valve is blocked and no exhuast gas is entering the EGR cooler, how would it overheat?
