What about the stuff you can't take pictures of...stuff you can't see? And, if I was a shipper, I wouldn't want my merchandise being pulled by something that looks like that. Yich!

    Wow!!!

I recovered several trucks for Burlington Motor Carriers years ago and none were even close to being this bad! A brand new truck to boot; a photo of the person who willfully trashed the truck would speak volumes. TL freight carriers hire anybody, no big secret.

I'd drive it to their shop and park it. If USA Truck couldn't get me a well maintained truck I'd go back home until they do as I'm sure they won't pay you for your 'wait time'. You would be no 'hero' for allowing USA Truck to crap all over you this time as they will continue doing it if you put up with the non sense.

Brand new truck completely trashed - pathetic. I've delivered a few ProStar Sleepers - very good trucks.:biggrin_25511:

Update: Got off the phone with a shop guy in Vandalia. He has the pix and is aware of the damages. He said I would be getting another truck as this one would be down for awhile. He was still wanting me to drive it to Vandalia and they would pay the tickets. Even if that was the case, my safety record would still be popped, there are 2 scales I have to go through on I 70 EB or I have to take Hwy 40 that parallels the 70.
The shop guy is going to be calling back. I think the bumper is going to get me pulled in and then they are going to see the tires. I think when he calls back, I'm going to refuse to drive it. I suggested they bring me another truck out here and tow this one 113 miles back to the shop, but he said too expensive.

Am I being a prima donna or appropriately cautious? The roads are wet, if a four wheeler pulled out on me and I hurt/killed someone, I'm the one going to jail.
    Thanks for your input!

    Big Duker Thanks this.

How sweet .. what a big hearted shop foreman ... buddy you latched on to a real winner of a company ... they'll pay the fine. Son ... the least of your worries is the fine you'll pick up at the first chicken coop you pass through.

Well ... it's your decision ... but just remember this when you are looking at the full penalty ... THEY SET YOU UP FOR THIS FALL ... why ... because it's too expensive to tow ... WHAT A CROCK!

Ya know ... you havn't driven that truck one inch yet ... you could easily get in it and the first time you put on the brakes it could pull you right into the other lane from the looks of that front axle the previous driver hit something hard and could have knocked the front end out of line and possibly even busted the diaphram on the brake chamber. That truck was drove hard (and recklessly) and put up wet ... ain't no #### way in H___ I'd risk my hide driving that POS ... and you you ain't got no business doing it either. Contrary to popular opinion ... THAT IS WHAT TOW TRUCKS ARE MADE FOR ... sorry bout the shouting ... but I hate to see a young fella being messed up over something as trivial as this ... TOW THE DARN THING!

Luckily there was an Autozone walking distance. I bought super strong cleaners, air fresheners, Armor all, industrial paper towels, Fabreeze and a stiff brush. It looks much better, but I had to keep the cab/sleeper windows open with the heat turned up to try to air out the smoke stink. I kept the receipts, they ARE going to reimburse me for this. The floor still looks bad, the AZ didn't have a whisk broom I could buy and Walmart said no big trucks. I dumped water on the floor and use the brush to make it look a bit better.
