I learned how to drive in an old 1962 VW bug. I drove a VW bug for a while in the early 80s. I went through a series of vehicles until I got that 1995 S-10. That was what I was driving when I lost my license. I never drove a new vehicle. Honestly, if I could drive again I would get the same pickup my father drove for years. A 1975 Chevy Custom Deluxe. That pickup was the toughest vehicle I ever drove. It looked a lot like this one.

Well a parallel would be -- how it seamed for most of the '80s and '90s folks were looking for pre-catalytic converter cars (so they didn't have to fight incompetent emissions schemes) until the fuel injection got actually reliable enough.

Remember when people would jack up the gas filler hole so they didn't have to use unleaded?
Time and society move on. Just gotta suck it up and take it sometimes.

Well I was figuring it would be a dusting..... overnight snowfall was closer to ankle deep.

Yard work has been cancelled for the day.

I bought a plastic tube that would take the larger leaded fuel handle nozzle and tapered down to fit in the unleaded only hole.

I also remember a 350 Chevrolet from 1969 being wore out at 100,000 miles too.

Been a long time since I last workes on this... In fact the last time was about 8 years ago when I built it from the ground up. Aside from a thick coat of rust its just as good as the day I finished it. Got it all tore down for new bearings and a new belt.
