My experience has been pretty much similar. For some reason these Volvos seem to get more contaminates into the air system than normal which take a toll on all the parts in the system if you don't purge the air tanks regularly.

    daddy&mama2go,

Glad to read your post's,I like your writing style either mama or daddy.

    Question:

Not to ask personal $ questions here, but I'm considering a Volvo 780 at Arrow.
Did the truck you had purchased from Arrow come with a bumper to bumper warranty, did you purchase some kind of warranty, drive train warranty?

How did they solve any warranty problems overall after the sale?

    Thanks,

    crusin

Daddy says give him all the credit for the writing style...so there you go Daddy. He is extremely prolific and handsome, at least to me.

As for buying at Arrow, I truly believes it depends on the Arrow that you buy at and just maybe have a tiny bit more truck savy than us. We don't pretend to have a clue.

The magical 30 day bumper to bumper warranty is part of the allure for buying from Arrow. They swore like a preacher promising the rapture that it absolutely meant just that, bumper to bumper. :biggrin_2559:In the end it pretty much did, not sure if OOIDA could be given credit for that, I highly suspect so.

We did buy an extended warranty as well, they offer National Truck something or other and we upgraded for the 4 year, 400,000 mile, all bells and whistles included version. We are a team, so that won't last too long. Our goal is to pay off the truck this year and use it on the 2010 model. (Before we receive hate mail, just let us be happy in our ignorance please.) Anyway, the warranty should last through that.

I'll be glad to let you know how the warranty actually pays out later this week. We intend to try to use. I feel the rapture approaching.:biggrin_25526:

NewlyCruisin we won't be using the Arrow warranty anymore, we've passed the 30 day mark now. We'll be using the warranty we bought unless it turns out that the problem we're experiencing is still part of the original items worked on by them.

Just curious, which Arrow are you going to?

The tanks are purged every night when I park it,.......

If I owned this truck,...I would hate it,...But since I don't foot the repair bill and I get payed while waiting for repairs,...Who cares!!!

    daddy&mama2go,

Searching all of Arrow's inventory,I would like to locate and find my truck closer to my house, but have considered purchasing elsewhere for reasons of condition, price, etc.

Since they are backed by Volvo ,they have lot's of Volvo's.

Anybody know if Arrow sale's lot's are independently owned?

Which warranty did you buy? If it is the Volvo Gen2 warranty, you wasted your money. There are a ton of exclusions(including anything EGR related or problem caused by a simultaneous EGR issue) and they would rather fight you tooth and nail than actually cover something. I had a Gen2 warranty thrown in when I purchased one of mine. It didnt cover a ##### thing and I eventually just stopped trying to use it and just paid everything out of pocket. Had I paid extra for that warranty, I would have been pretty pissed.

that's standard operating procedure for all of the aftermarket warrenty companies. They have a ton of exclusions. They have a list of covered parts and not covered parts and they are very good at what they do. Pistons may be a covered item, but the wrist pin that hold the piston to the rod isn't. So if the piston fails they just say it's not covered because it's caused by the wrist pin. just a quick example

I'm pretty sure they are not independently owned. The truck we picked out was actually in Phoenix and we bought it out of Dallas. We were specific on the mileage, year, and engine that we wanted. In the end, and I'm sure they haters-curious as to how many actually bought more than a hatbox in their life-on here will love this remark, it shot us in the foot.

The truck didn't arrive when promised and I'm being very generous with my consideration-truck was supposed to be delievered over Christmas-I suppose that was part of the issue. It kinda skipped that bumper to bumper inspection part-claimed it got it, but come on! That mechanic should be shot if he actually did it, unless he was sipping back on too much of the old eggnog. :biggrin_2559:

Anyway we love the truck! The space issue in the other trucks just about had me convinced to get out and return to my other businesses. Didn't want to leave Daddy alone, but I need space! The interior makes me feel like I'm driving around America in an RV instead of truck and I'm so much happier for it.

If you decide to have one shipped in from another area give yourself plenty of time to have it properly inspected by an independent dealer. It will be worth the money.:biggrin_25515:
