I am a US driver on a Canadian trip. I drove three hours after midnight this Calvander day and then took a 10 hour break in the US. Do I have a new 13 hours to drive in Canada or do the three hours I used after midnight before my break count against me?
Confused about Canadian rules please help ASAP

So then I suppose if I just stop driving before midnight and wait until after midnight I could still drive out by 13 Canadian hours then?

In this case yesterday’s shift cut into today and used 3 of today’s hours, now in order to get your full 13 driving hours you need to work past midnight again. (Basically your shifts keep taking hours from the following day).Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Got it. Thank you so much!

If you drove past midnight til 3 am then took 10 hrs off you only have11 hrs left on the day. So what you are suggesting is not possible. But yes if you took an hour off between 1pm and 1159pm. then yes you can drive another 3hrs.
Another Canadian driver and farmboy73 Thank this. -
I believe the carrier decides when the 24hr time frame begins and it could be anytime. Then that start time is supposed to be for a certain time frame.'88K100, Another Canadian driver, upnorthwpg and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah you can't drive more than 13 hours per day as well. Midnight to midnight. It's sort of hard to do, it leaves 1 hour for fuel, pre/post trip, mid day break, load or unload, etc.
Is @not4hire still around?Another Canadian driver and farmboy73 Thank this. -
Another Canadian driver and gokiddogo Thank this.
