Bout as much as I do Xbox playing. But it’s not double brokering. Are they useful? Well that’s a different question.

because the dispatcher works for you and is billed as a service to you without handling the money between you and the consignee

A broker handles the load from the consignee to you, pays you directly.

Stringb8n and Jubal Early Times Thank this.

I used to love that line when they're trying to get you to go to a dead zone and claim to have hauls out of there all the time. I counter with, okay, well, add what you pay for the return load, and I promise you, I will do the next one for free.

Never been taken up on my offer. It's why I only deliver to Toronto and haven't been to Montreal in over a decade.

    jamespmack and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

Personally one of the reason I went independent with my own authority was not to have a dispatcher. I was thinking about it and I just don’t understand how in the world would I just want one to handle the easiest part of the business while I do the dirty work. It’s illogical to me.

Back when I had worked as a company driver the best dispatchers were the ones that had a load for me before I was unloaded and had it scheduled perfectly. That’s all I cared about back than, now there’s too many things I take into consideration when booking loads, I can’t even think how I would convey it to someone else so they would make a good decision for me.

But I think just listen to what your customers want, since you have them already.

You know what a diaper and a dispatcher have in common right?

Always on your rear, and normally full of sheet.
