What kind of take home pay can a first year driver in a comfort zone expect with Swift?
Also, do they typically hire drivers right out of their training program? I can't see the point in training with them if they are not going to hire you afterwards. I could training somewhere else if I'm not going to be guaranteed employment.

My class from the Swift Academy had 100% hired. Talking to other drivers, expect to earn 35-42K your first full year. Also, after 6 safe months, you can sign up to be a mentor. Then you get more miles and get paid for your student's miles also.

You said take home, it wont be nearly 35-42 even gross wont be that much I would bet. When I am asked I say 30-36 gross is realistic. Can you make more yes, but not very likely. To make 42k you have to avg 802 a week. Yes will make that some weeks but prolly not every. Most people I have talked to say around 36k, but with freight being slow, I say 30-36. Take home depends a lot on your tax deductions, and insurance you get. Hard to say.

It's nice to see people post possitive things instead of the negitive all the time.
I'm seriously looking at Swift for when I graduate from IITR.
Any possitive info on Swift would be greatly appreciated. -
Hi,
I'm a recent grad and trying to get an estimate on how much first year drivers make at swift...with being home more than once a month.
I keep hearing that I will only be making minimum wage? I just need to make around $1800 a month to pay the bills.
Thanks in advance,
Jeremiah -
I'd budget around 25-30k.
-
Would that be net or gross? and is that staying out all month?
I would like to be home every 7 to 10 days like they "tell" you. -
When I was in orientation a couple of weeks ago, they said they no longer placed drivers in comfort zones. However, you could choose to run the eastern half of the united states, the western half, or both. -
JG recentgrad Thanks this.
