i appreciate you trying...i really love the better response from not having the fan hooked but already noticed in warmer temps its not good when idling.

Not apples to apples, but our new excavator has 8 electric fans that come on sequentially as demand requires (I think). Prior to this they used hydraulic motors to run the fan at varying speeds. Eight smaller fans obviously can produce adequate CFM movement.

I doubt the electric fan solution will be more reliable considering the additional wiring, electric motors, sensors, etc. but given the potential efficiency gain it may be worthwhile pursuing.

I think for now am going to fix the mechanical fan.. later on with time ill make a custom shroud and put 4 flexalite 118 fans that i saw someguy on youtube test it at 2500cfm so total of 10k cfm.....2 80 amp relays with 10-12 gauge wiring to a switch and done.

Update guys i ended up doing the electric fans and this week i put 3k+ plus miles and good so far 2 fans only seem to cool the engine and run the ac....I want to upgrade the alternator with a delco remy 200amp cause when i use the 4 fans volts drop from 14 to 13 ... here are some pics...it wasnt easy and took me 3-4 days a couple hrs each day.
