I honestly would stick with 12.7 unless your looking for lower mpg. 12.7 BK with aftermarket turbo and stock internal will live a long life at 600-650hp and 1850 TQ. Fernando at DCS does a great programming and ecm repair.

But Eric does both, programming and internal engine work. To notch guys.

I worked for a IH shop in 2001. When they had guaranteed trade in prices to JB, and Schneider. One day it seemed all the cabovers were dropped off at every IH across the country. About broke IH. Those turds set around along time to sell, and trucking was not in a great place.

 

A lot of those old IH cabovers went to Mexico and South America. I was in Ecuador a couple of years ago and there were still quite a few running. LOL...Quite a few picked over for parts and junked out too.

 

Oh I know. We decked so many. They all were headed south.

Dads 9700 went across the border when he sold it. And a lot of the Macks went over the big pond to Africa. Before we got big red we were looking at 97 ch 454 and would've bought it too but a guy from Africa just closed the deal on it. Super clean besides a rear main leak.

 

I'll look more for a 12.7 then. I was under the impression much over 500 they wouldn't be too happy for the long term.

Inframed with warrantee, 370 Cummins and a 9 speed for under $10 grand, painted any color you wanted. At least, that’s what was advertised. Thought about it, but I started in a cabover long haul, and I really didn’t want to get beat up anymore.
