Brokers offer transparency. Imagine that!

For 370 miles from Chicago to Columbus, OH, I asked $1450 - which, I understand to many with over 150K loans to pay off, is pretty cheap, but it is even cheap to me - with $0 loans to pay off - considering that in 2021 - $2000 was possible to get.

"$1000 is all I got in it..." I heard from the negotiator on the other side of the telephone connection.

Is it a transparency or a lie?

    If a broker said it...Its probably true...
If that broker posted it on Facebook it’s absolutely True:p
    BTW for the record....
    “That’s all I got in it”= That’s all I’m willing to pay

And on that particular lane, there's gonna be any number of Eastern European outfits willing to do it for less.

It's a decade old misconception that Eastern Europeans run cheap, but it is just not true.

I’d like to hear something that backs that up
A decade ago Chicago meat to NYC and certain finished products back was right at 6k plus fuel....same customers (we still talk)
Getting it done for 1/2 that With fuel

Could be either one. I’m seeing brokers take freight for absolutely stupid rates because they know they’ll cover it.

If he started lower then $1000 it’s probably true, if he came back with that and you were first to shoot then probably a lie but doesn’t mean he has more then $1050 in it.

I wouldn't consider 1450 to be cheap for that lane......however, I'm of the theory that if brokers are required to be transparent, they'll tell you anything to be compliant. I'm not sure why they wouldn't bluff drivers. They're in the money game too.
