I remember someone trying to tell me that snap binders were illegal about 15 years ago but it never came to be.
These are the ones we use on structural. Pretty slick cuz they’re adjustable plus they lock. Snap binders are so handy with structural cuz you can take up so much slack with just one motion. Sometimes with a ratchet you can wind it tight but then have to redo it again to get another link in the chain. If I’m hauling a single bridge girder I prefer ratchets cuz you know you can get them tight. Sometimes with a snap binder, one link on the chain is too loose but the next link might be too tight.

That is all I ever used for years .
