And big brother gets bigger. Got a call from the assistant terminal manager to inform me that starting very soon there will be changes to the way Lytx clips are looked at.

Currently if you do something or something happens that causes a clip to be generated (hard braking, lane departure, roll stability kicks in, no stop at stop sign, phone in hand, #### like that) it is assigned a point value (points are not good), or not, depending on what happened and why, and that point value plays into if you qualify for the weekly safety bonus, get calls from safety department and whatnot.

Moving forward if something happens that triggers a clip and in that clip they see that you have anything in your hand like a candy bar, bottle of water, your left nut, or in my case, a Marlboro Light, or if you are wearing a headset you will be getting a point value for that clip, no matter what.

Zig zagging from lane to lane in a construction zone because that's how they coned it off and generate a clip for lane departure while taking a drink? Doesn't matter, here's your points you bad boy you. Go over the fog line even with both hands on the wheel but have a cigarette in one hand because some ####### in a Prius is to busy watching their battery charge on the dashboard while texting and drives into my lane? Doesn't matter, here's your points you bad boy you.

Whatever, I need to stop typing before I bust a blood vessel here, just thinking about the lack of trust is pissing me off more.

I dunno, for the time being I'm gonna wait and see how things shake out. There are a lot of good points to the company, I won't deny it. Overall I still feel like I'm treated very well here, but this one is sticking in my craw something fierce. There have been plenty of times over the years I thought something was going to be a huge deal only to have it turn out to be a non issue, maybe this will be one of those times. On the other hand the opposite is also true.

Part of me would love to take a stand on principal and say pound sand, but I've got way more sunrises behind me than I do in front of me. I'm realistic enough about myself to know that starting over at a new place isn't something I want to do either, but would if I absolutely had to. I like dry bulk, I enjoy it, which is a big thing on my requirement list, and as companies go, there isn't one around here that is going to pay me nearly what I am making now for working only half the time, 4 on/ 4 off schedule.

I voiced my opinion on this during the call informing me of it, I don't know if others did the same or not, or if in the big picture it would even have any affect. Like I said earlier, there are a lot of good things here, this one just has me wanting to slap someone. I keep wondering where the tipping point is and when the hell is someone gonna realize all this crap actually makes the job and the drive worse, not better.

But I have wondering that with most everything in the world the last few years.....

Yes and no. It wasn't said you can't use your headset to talk on the phone or for whatever other reason you could have to use one, but if you do something that triggers the camera to record an event you will get penalized for having the headset on during that event, no matter if it was a factor in what occurred or not.

It was kind of explained to me that we have a lot of drivers that basically put the headset on when they wake up and take it off when they go to bed, so when something does happen that triggers the camera they don't know if it was due to talking and not paying attention or not, so this is in a jacked up way maybe a shot at drivers to only wear them when you are actually using them? I don't know.
