Same here the only time I leave the pavement is at the yard Lol. We're getting a load or 2 of stone dumped where we park. It's a muddy f'n mess.

Oh and some new mudflaps Lol.

Luckily it does have some decent rock on the lot. Guy told me he will take the 1200 I gave him and put some more rock down. So that will be a big plus.
Also on a side not about parking if anyone here reading this in the Kansas City area needs some parking let me know. I can hook you up with the same deal as me if you would like.

Sounds like a really good guy. When we parked in Binghamton it was 150 for each truck. This place now is a 100. They also have a big 4 bay shop and live on the property. He's gotten us out of a few binds before

Yes he sure seems to be a nice strait forward man. I like dealing with people like that as well. He has a few trucks as well but doesn't have any drivers at this time because he lost his contract freight he had to someone. Was some short loads done daily and was 1100 to 600 a load. He had to let all his help go since it would not work out.

Told me he would be more than willing to do some deals with me if I wanted to get into some dedicated work. He could put some people in the trucks to help make something happen if I could not cover it myself. Good to know if I want to go after some contract freight. I may get serious this summer and see if I can do something like that. Need to see if my motivation comes back after being off these meds I was on the last year and half.

We just got some business cards made up, been talking about it since Thanksgiving Lol. I wish we could get hooked up with the main place we pull out of but nobody can with the logistic service they're using now. The guy we got all these tires from for a hell of a deal sold his trucks except his main truck and his spare. Same thing, his contract ran out and he said #### it. He's working at the shop we park at now

Need to find a niche that nobody else wants to do, places that nobody else wants to go, oddball ####. All we need is a place or 2 to give us a chance to prove that were worth it. We both go above and beyond with our communication, being on time and acting professional no matter how much you wanna cuss someone out. That's how we've gotten the steady moves we have now. The broker knows he can send it and forget it, it'll get there on time and not damaged

The guy down the road has a dozen trucks, a few, 3-4 brand new this year and he runs almost all spot freight. I know he has truck payments and is running this cheap freight. I was following one of his driver's a few weeks ago and saw the exit he got off and what seal was on the doors. I know where he picked up and was delivering to. We quit doing that move back in the late summer-early fall because the rate dropped way off yet here he is still moving it trying to make his payments. I know he spent a ton of money the last few years on a bunch of toys. He hasn't been in business very long and expanded quickly from oilfield money from land the family owned

Man I fill for that guy. I would not want to be in that situation with drivers on the pay roll. If I am gonna do some dedicated work I want to get into Multi stop loads. Would be nice to find something that takes a week or so to deliver and a few days to load up. I don't mind if it is white glove or have a pallet jack.

I am the same way with any work I do. Give me a chance and I will prove to be better than who you had before. Once I get the load they have no worries on that load unless a natural disaster happens. My main broker I use always loves when I have his loads. He never bugs me and always gets updates before he needs them.

He probably thought the rates would hold up for longer. I'd hate to be in that position too knowing that people's families are counting on me. If I had to close up shop that would be a hard nut to swallow telling my employees.

Just wait till the new trucks aren't so new and start costing more money to maintain and repair. That usually starts at the 2-3 year mark, even with high quality drivers.

Hopefully he was smart enough to get the 500K warranty on everything so it doesn't go up much.

Well I got the first load delivered earlier today and waiting to get loaded to go back to MO.
First load was two drops one in AR and second in TX. From MO to AR I got 7.7 MPGS with about 17K in the trailer. Second drop from AR to TX was about 10K and got 7.9 MPGS. Both drives was going through decent head wind and I felt like the truck handled a little smoother with the trailer aero added.
Hopefully that wind is still doing the same thing on the way back. I should get great MPG's if that is the case. It is a 2 drop load as well bit basically a few miles away from each other.

Once I get back I am gonna stop and finish up my taxes. I am sure it will take close to a week to get them done since I don't get to motivated do them. I need to get caught up on a lot of paperwork as well so it will be nothing but paperwork for a week. I sure like driving more!
